Your key responsibilities
Technical Excellence
- Scope : The HR Generalist - Employee Lifecycle will support the Bangalore GCC HR Shared Services operation for employee lifecycle management. The role will provide operational execution, case support, data stewardship, stakeholder follow-up and transition-readiness support. The role is expected to work within defined HR policies, country process nuances, data privacy requirements and BOT governance standards, while helping build a stable and transferable HRSS capability for a global pharma organization. Responsibilities: Own end-to-end employee lifecycle transactions including hires, transfers, job changes, manager changes, exits and employment-data updates. - Validate approvals, effective dates, employee data fields and downstream payroll or reporting impact before execution. - Maintain accurate lifecycle cases, audit trails, evidence and closure notes in the HR helpdesk system. - Coordinate with HRBPs, payroll, reporting and sending-side process owners to resolve missing or conflicting inputs. - Support shadowing and reverse-shadowing during knowledge transfer and provide process playback to confirm operational readiness. - Identify recurring defects, delayed approvals and avoidable employee queries, and recommend process or knowledge-base improvements. - Triage employee and manager HR cases, verify required information, and assign the correct category, priority, urgency and ownership. - Resolve in-scope HR cases within agreed service levels using approved policies, process guides, decision trees and knowledge articles. - Maintain complete case notes, attachments, customer communications, status updates, actions taken and closure rationale for audit readiness. - Perform permitted employee-profile lookups in Workday or a comparable HCM platform to validate information and support case resolution. - Route complex, sensitive or out-of-scope cases to Tier 2, HR Advisory, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition or other specialist teams with a clear summary, relevant facts and recommended next step. - Follow up with employees, managers and dependent teams to obtain missing information, communicate progress and support timely closure. - Monitor assigned queues, case ageing, pending actions and SLA performance, and escalate service risks through defined channels. - Apply data privacy, identity-verification and confidential-information handling requirements throughout the case lifecycle. - Identify repeat queries, case trends, process gaps and knowledge gaps, and share observations for service-quality and knowledge-base improvements. - Support case calibration, quality reviews, knowledge transfer, process shadowing and reverse-shadowing to maintain consistent resolution standards. Competencies: - Strong HR operations mindset with ability to balance employee experience, policy adherence and service controls - High attention to detail, data accuracy and documentation discipline for audit-ready execution. - Clear written communication, professional stakeholder follow-through and ability to manage global hand-offs. - Comfortable operating in a GCC or shared services model with SLAs, queues, escalations and governance reviews - Ability to learn process nuances during knowledge transfer, ask structured questions and convert knowledge into - Sound judgement in handling confidential employee information and escalating sensitive matters appropriately. Tools and Tech Workday HCM / SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central; ServiceNow HRSD; policy knowledge base; reporting dashboards MUST have 3-5 years of experience is mandatory, with hands-on experience in employee lifecycle management within HR operations, GCC, GBS or shared services; working knowledge of HR ticketing, case documentation, SLA management and employee-data confidentiality; ability to use HR systems and process documentation to execute employee lifecycle transactions or resolve employee queries; Workday HCM or SAP SuccessFactors exposure for employee-data lookup, transactions, reporting or process validation; ServiceNow HRSD or comparable helpdesk / case management workflow experience; strong business English and ability to support global stakeholders. NICE to have Pharma, life sciences, GCC or regulated-industry HR operations experience; exposure to BOT, transition or knowledge-transfer environments; experience with process documentation, knowledge-base governance, dashboards, root-cause analysis or continuous improvement; awareness of data privacy, GDPR, HR compliance and audit-support requirements.
