About this role
Your Key Responsibilities
- Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
- Engage with front office users (PMs, traders) to understand business processes, workflows, and system enhancement needs within Charles River.
- Document functional requirements, user stories, and process flows for changes in CRD across modules such as:
- Order Management System (OMS)
- Portfolio Management
- Compliance
- IBOR/Accounting interfaces
- Post trade workflows
- Translate business requirements into functional design specifications for Technology teams.
- CRIMS Configuration & Functional Support
- Configure CRIMS components including workflows, compliance rules, dashboards, blotters, and user profiles.
- Support daily CRIMS operations, including trade flow, compliance rule checks, and order lifecycle management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:
- Order workflows
- Trade routing and FIX connecativity
- Compliance rule exceptions
- Data quality (securities, benchmarks, prices, exposures)
- Project & Change Management
- Lead or participate in CRIMS upgrades, new module implementations, and workflow redesign initiatives.
- Conduct impact assessments, regression testing, and UAT planning.
- Coordinate with Charles River/State Street support teams for issue resolution or enhancements.
- Data Management & Integration
- Work with Data Engineering/Operations to ensure high quality security master, pricing, positions, and benchmark data in CRIMS.
- Support interfaces between CRIMS and downstream/upstream systems:
- Portfolio Accounting systems
- EMS/FIX networks
- Risk systems
- Reporting tools
- Stakeholder Communication & Training
- Serve as a liaison between business teams and technology teams.
- Provide training and support for end users on new features, workflows, and system functionalities.
- Prepare documentation including SOPs, release notes, and process guides.
Skills and attributes for success
Preferred Skills
- 5–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in investment management or asset management technology.
- Hands on experience with Charles River IMS (v23R1 and above preferred ) across OMS, Compliance, or PM modules.
- Strong understanding of investment products:
- Equities
- Fixed Income
- Derivatives
- FX
- Money Markets
- Knowledge of front to back investment workflows: order generation, trading, compliance, settlements, and performance.
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools for troubleshooting issues.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodology.
Good to Have
- Experience with CRIMS compliance rule building and testing.
- Familiarity with FIX connectivity (routing, executions, drop copy).
- Experience with IBOR/ABOR processes and reconciliations.
- Exposure to cloud-based CRD implementations (SaaS model).
- CFA/FRM or progress toward certification is a plus.
