Mobile Application Developer-Full stack(React Native)

The Opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack & Mobile in GDS Digital, you will play a key role in designing and delivering secure, scalable and high-performing enterprise solutions across .NET backend APIs and React Native mobile applications.

The role requires strong hands-on experience in creating RESTful APIs using C#, .NET Core / ASP.NET Core, integrating APIs with enterprise mobile applications, and delivering React Native solutions for both iOS and Android.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable owning technical modules end-to-end, contributing to solution design, implementing MSAL / Microsoft identity-based authentication, supporting Intune app wrapping / enterprise app protection requirements and mentoring junior engineers.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend systems, RESTful APIs and reusable services using C#, .NET Core / ASP.NET Core.

• Own API design, request / response modelling, validation, authentication, authorisation, exception handling, logging and performance optimisation.

• Lead React Native mobile application development for enterprise-grade iOS and Android applications.

• Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs, authentication providers, Microsoft identity platform and enterprise systems.

• Implement and troubleshoot MSAL authentication flows including token acquisition, refresh, redirect URI / deep link handling and secure session management.

• Support enterprise mobile security requirements including Microsoft Intune app wrapping / Intune SDK concepts, app protection policies, secure storage and SSL pinning awareness.

• Contribute to mobile build, packaging and deployment activities across Android and iOS including signing, provisioning profiles, certificates, Gradle, Xcode and CocoaPods.

• Build cloud-native solutions using Azure services and modern engineering practices.

• Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, security, architecture and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Conduct code reviews, define engineering best practices and improve maintainability, reliability and security of the codebase.

• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis and drive effective remediation.

• Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance and support knowledge sharing within the team.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must have

• 4-6 years of experience in software development with strong hands-on experience in .NET backend engineering and mobile application development.

• Strong expertise in C#, .NET Core / ASP.NET Core for building enterprise-grade applications and APIs.

• Strong understanding of REST API design, distributed systems, microservices concepts, API security, scalability and performance optimisation.

• Hands-on experience with React Native for building and maintaining iOS and Android enterprise applications.

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript, React concepts, hooks, component architecture, state management and mobile navigation patterns.

• Hands-on experience integrating mobile apps with backend APIs, authentication systems and enterprise platforms.

• Practical experience with Microsoft identity platform, MSAL authentication, OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, JWT tokens, scopes, claims and role-based access.

• Exposure to Microsoft Intune app wrapping / Intune SDK concepts, mobile application management and app protection policies.

• Good understanding of Android and iOS build ecosystems including Android Studio, Xcode, Gradle, CocoaPods, app signing, certificates and provisioning profiles.

• Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Entity Framework Core, database design and query optimisation.

• Experience with Azure services such as App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Storage, Key Vault, API Management and Application Insights.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions, Git-based workflows and release management.

• Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience with React / Angular web applications as supporting frontend technologies.

• Experience with Redux Toolkit, React Navigation, push notifications, Firebase messaging, secure storage, mobile analytics and crash reporting.

• Knowledge of mobile security practices including encrypted storage, SSL pinning, HTTPS-only communication, certificate handling and secure configuration management.

• Experience with API versioning, Swagger / OpenAPI, Azure API Management, caching and observability practices.

• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, event-driven architecture, messaging and asynchronous communication patterns.

• Experience with unit testing and automation using Jest, React Native Testing Library, xUnit, NUnit or similar frameworks.

• Ability to contribute to solution architecture, technical documentation, reusable components, engineering playbooks and mentoring initiatives.
