Job Description

Microsoft Dynamics Project Manager – Roles & Responsibilities

Project Planning & Management

• Lead end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics implementation, upgrade, migration, and support projects.
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Manage project timelines and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
• Monitor project progress and proactively address risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Ensure adherence to project governance, methodologies, and organizational standards.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, business users, and executive stakeholders.
• Facilitate project kickoff meetings, steering committee meetings, and status reviews.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Provide regular project status reports, dashboards, and executive updates.
• Coordinate communication between business teams, functional consultants, technical teams, and third-party vendors.

Microsoft Dynamics Project Delivery

• Manage implementations and enhancements for: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CRM) Dynamics 365 Sales Dynamics 365 Customer Service Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management (SCM) Dynamics 365 Human Resources Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Oversee solution design, configuration, customization, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
• Ensure solutions align with Microsoft best practices and organizational requirements.

Resource & Team Management

• Lead cross-functional teams comprising functional consultants, technical consultants, developers, architects, QA engineers, and business analysts.
• Assign tasks, monitor workloads, and ensure optimal resource utilization.
• Conduct performance reviews, mentoring, and coaching for project team members.
• Foster collaboration and resolve team conflicts effectively.

Risk & Issue Management

• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Maintain risk, issue, and dependency logs.
• Escalate critical issues to senior management when necessary.
• Ensure timely resolution of project blockers.

Budget & Financial Management

• Develop and manage project budgets and forecasts.
• Track project costs, resource utilization, and financial performance.
• Manage project billing, invoicing, and financial reporting.
• Ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Governance

• Establish project governance frameworks and reporting structures.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and quality assurance processes.
• Manage project documentation, approvals, and change requests.
• Conduct stage-gate reviews and project audits.

Agile & Waterfall Delivery

• Manage projects using Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies.
• Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives where applicable.
• Track project progress using Azure DevOps, Jira, or Microsoft Project.
• Monitor sprint velocity and project KPIs.

Change Management

• Manage scope changes through formal change control processes.
• Assess business impact and obtain stakeholder approvals.
• Coordinate organizational change management activities.
• Support user adoption and business readiness initiatives.

Testing & Deployment

• Oversee System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and regression testing.
• Ensure test plans, defect management, and quality assurance activities are completed.
• Coordinate production deployment and cutover planning.
• Manage post-go-live stabilization and hypercare support.

Vendor & Client Management

• Coordinate with Microsoft partners, third-party vendors, and implementation partners.
• Manage vendor deliverables and contractual obligations.
• Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and delivery excellence.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure adherence to Microsoft implementation methodologies and industry best practices.
• Monitor project quality metrics and deliverable standards.
• Conduct lessons learned sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Documentation

• Prepare and maintain: Project Charter Project Management Plan Risk Register RAID Log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) Communication Plan Status Reports Resource Plan Cutover Plan Go-Live Checklist Project Closure Report
