Project Role Description : Responsible for developing and/or engineering the end-to-end features of a system, from user experience to backend code. Use development skills to deliver innovative solutions that help our clients improve the services they provide. Summary:
As a Full Stack Engineer, a typical day involves designing, building, and refining comprehensive system features that span from the user interface to the backend infrastructure. This role requires actively engaging in the entire development lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. The engineer collaborates with various teams to implement innovative solutions that enhance client services, while continuously exploring and applying emerging technologies. Working within a cloud-first and agile environment, the engineer balances creativity and technical expertise to address complex business challenges effectively and efficiently.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead the coordination of development activities to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Mentor junior team members to foster skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams to align project goals and technical requirements.
- Apply approved AI coding assistants to PostgreSQL queries, schema changes, migrations, and database tests. Validate generated SQL for correctness, injection risk, access controls, transaction safety, locking, execution plans, and performance before execution test migrations and rollback in non-production environments, protect client data, and retain human review accountability.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in PostgreSQL.
- Experience in designing and optimizing database schemas to support scalable applications.
- Strong knowledge of backend development principles and integration with frontend components.
- Ability to write efficient queries and perform performance tuning for complex database operations.
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments and deployment strategies.
- Competence in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to database and application layers.
- Knowledge of Capital Markets and Investment Management, with experience across securities, trading, portfolio management, investment operations, and related financial services processes.
- AI Technical Skills: Hands-on use of approved coding assistants (for example, GitHub Copilot) with context-rich prompting, generated-SQL review, and automated database test validation. Ability to support AI-enabled applications through PostgreSQL data modeling, embedding storage, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and approved vector/hybrid search integrations. Apply least-privilege access and parameterized queries validate AI-generated queries before execution and require approval for database changes. Evaluate retrieval quality, latency, cost, prompt-injection resistance, and sensitive-data handling. AI tech stack: PostgreSQL, SQL, Python/Java application integrations, LLM APIs, and project-approved vector extensions such as pgvector. Framework and platform choices are project-dependent.
- Managerial Skills: Lead PostgreSQL delivery and operational planning, workload allocation, migration and release coordination, dependency and risk management, and stakeholder communication coordinate application and database teams, manage incident escalations, and mentor engineers.
- Architectural Skills: Define PostgreSQL logical and physical data models, indexing and partitioning strategies, transaction boundaries, and application integration design replication, availability, backup and recovery, migration, and access controls, and document performance, scalability, and cost trade-offs.
